The Feds Finally Got Something Right

Why the long face? More importantly, why the big heads?!

I’m from Detroit. Born and raised. I lived in the city 89.47% of my life (I did the math.) So it brings me great pleasure to know that my hometown’s former mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, has been sentenced to 28 years in federal prison for a myriad of fraud charges, while I escaped one – that I voted for him his first term.

Instead of ~~pooring~~ pouring one out for Kwame, I thought this song might be a better send off:

Not Lions Down On The Job

Upon returning home to Detroit, I was happy to hear about some new developments. Seeing them was something else entirely different.

1) The Detroit Free Press won the Pulitzer Prize for (essentially) bringing down mayor Kwame Kilpatrick with their reports on his scandalous sex text messages. Kudos to them!

In case you’re unaware, don’t remember, or are one of the Octomom’s newborns, here’s an early report:

2) And since I usually have little (nice) to say about the Detroit Lions except in rare cases of giving out recognition or simply to make suggestions, they have a new logo:

Today disgraced Detroit mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, begins his 120-day jail sentence here (from the Freep):

: Oh no! Not graffiti on the mirror!

Considering I’m an actual citizen of Detroit, and since I’m technically paying for his stay with my tax dollars (I think I am – I really don’t know much about things like that), I suggest we do this: play this song on loop the entire four months.
