Happy Find… Please Rob Me

Well not me, specifically...

I don’t say this often – mostly because the majority of things are not – but here I go… BRILLIANT!

I’ve often thought when perusing my Twitter feeds, “Why did he or she say that?”

Usually the that pertains to a variety of other inappropriate TMI-type things.  Sometimes though, people report where they are at, and by stating that, they are informing us Twitter users where they are not, and that long run-on sentence leads me to this:

Please Rob Me

It’s a website that collects Tweets of people announcing their whereabouts, and it leaves the rest up to you go-getters.

It only leads me to question whether there’s a site that collects what people on Twitter eat.  Wait, yeah… there is.

Happy Find… The Beardly

Also equals... "Awesome"

The last Happy Find kick I was on involved the websites with fuck in their URL.  Between Selleck Waterfall Sandwich and now The Beardly, I hope not to continue a facial hair trend.

But, you never know, considering the current state of my face:

My suggested slogans are below...

Happy Find… Selleck Waterfall Sandwich

There’s not much more than can be said about this Happy Find than can be said by this logo:

If it doesn’t make any sense, here’s the translation: Selleck Waterfall Sandwich. And you haven’t had your fill of 80’s facial hair, beautiful flowing landscapes, and, well, meat and cheese between bread slices, here’s a tasty taste:

A submarine sandwich? How rich! (Click image if the GIF isn't working)

Feel free to think of this post as a belated Valentine’s Day present, or as a Heart Shaped Boxing Day present for our Canadian friends!

Happy Find… The Last Airbender Preview

I don’t have anything else to say.

I just really cannot wait for this movie.

I drool in anticipation.  (<— I was going to go with a few options other than drool, but they bordered on inappropriate.)

The Nickelodeon cartoon this adaptation is based on is one of the best I’ve fully enjoyed, and it’s a shame James Cameron beat M. Night Shyamalan to the film naming pool.  (The show was on in 2005.  But I guess Titanic earns you more weight for that cannonball than The Happening.)

Anywind, Aang is the Avatar.  Fuck Jake Sully.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Happy Finds… Confusion Abounds

Sometimes I find too many websites that make me happy.  Today, I found four.

1) WTF Comcast – Who writes these summaries?  Who cares?  They’re hilarious and strange, and collected on this website.

Damn interns.

2) Boozecats – Here’s the math behind this website:

party photo – booze + cats = win

"Chug! Chug! Chug!" they all chanted. Because Chug was the cat's name, you see.

3) Sexy People – This picture says it all.  But if you need to hear more (if this portrait didn’t, in fact, “say it all”), check out this website.

I think I used to have the same wallpaper...

4) 100 Things I Learned – Films have a lot to teach us.  For example, here are some things people learned from watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

#1 – Don’t let your mom eat environmentally friendly brownies served by white kids in dreadlocks.

#6 – Michael Bay will always stress that when teleporting from America to Egypt, it will still be the middle of the afternoon.

#13 – If a Transformer saves your life from an incredibly dangerous situation, instead of thanking him, tell him you’re completely safe now and that you don’t need him anymore.

Happy Find… Cute Things Exploding

Need there be anymore explanation than the title?

Okay, so the last thing wasn’t so cute.  For more, check out Cute Things Exploding’s YouTube channel.

A Plethora Of Happy Finds, For El Guapo!

Well, El Guapo, though I may not really know what a plethora is, I do know when I’ve cracked one open and it’s spilling candy (oh – that’s a piñata).

Anyway, in all my perusing of the TripleDoubleU, I find so many videos that make me chuckle, it makes me weep.

So today, I’m sort of going for broke and offering up not ONE… not TWO… not THREE… not FOURnot FIVE… video collections!

  • Numero 3 is in fact Numero 3 in a series of Creed spoofs.  You remember Scott Stapp and crew, right?  Well according to this particular video they only remember to perform when the camera’s on them to not just hilarious, but hil-ar-i-ous, effect.  (More dubs from the Spirit Switchboard.)
  • This video is last because it probably warms my heart the most.  Rhett and Link have made it on this site before since I share my love of terrible local commercials with them, but this piece… play me off, El Guapo!  (And for the record -yes, I’m aware Cuba is not in Mexico… I know it’s in Florida.)

Awesome Battle… Which Happy Find Should Have Got Its Own Post?

I’ve had so many Happy Finds that I can’t quite keep up with, so instead of letting them get lost in the ethers of net, here’s a good ol’ fashion dump list.  Don’t hate me!

1) The BossHoss

This band from Berlin mocks celebrates the stylings of country music in America by covering pop tunes from America.  They refer to their versions as “Country Trash Punk Rock.”  But in German, I guess.  (via Dave, more BossHoss here)

2) Remember these?

Oh yeah, Lisa Skye! I forgot about, um, her...

Not the specific (wacky) strip itself, but the Hostess ads found in comic books about, oh, 25-30 years ago.  Okay, you probably don’t remember them.  But Seanbaby (no relation) did, and he’s collected all the food-tossing, problem-solving insanity on his site.

3) Clients From Hell

Working in IT (as I do) requires an amazing amount of patience.  Don’t believe me?  Click on the above link, or simply watch this video.  You will believe… (via Eric)

4) Unicorn Vs. Narwhal – The Game

Ever wonder what the outcome of such a fantastic battle (but not quite Awesome) would be?  Click the above link and find out!  (via Urlesque)

5) Working UPC Art

Like this? I can get ya even more!

Happy Find… Anthony Jeselnik

This guy tells the best wrong jokes I’ve ever heard.  Enjoy (and possibly be mortified) while I continue nursing this hangover…

Happy Find… The Chris List

(I apologize for being behind on posts… I plan to catch up soon.)

My friend (and coworker) Chris often makes interesting web discoveries, and he always passes the info onto me, and I to you.  I always make sure to give credit where credit is due, so I thank him for his finds as a footnote.  No more.  Maybe.

This could be a one-shot; it could be a regular.  If it is, will this post stay the Chris List, or will it get a more clever name?  I can’t say for sure.  What I can say for sure is that the following website delighted our coworkers for hours/days on end.  Unfortunately I was busy at clients, and didn’t get to partake in the shenanigans…

1) Awkward Family Photos

"This is what we like to call a 'choose your own adventure' family photo."

The URL says it all, and not all of the pics and comments are hilarious, but when you find a gem – it rocks.  Unlike that pun.  Awkwaaard…

2) This pic is worth 1002 words…

3)  Appvent Calendar

Chris doesn’t even have an iPhone, but he made me aware of this site.  And even though it is iPhone centric, and I feel bad for bringing it up, it could be worth it if any of the games pan out to be good…

Just like digital candy...

Check it daily to see what new free games are available for download.  Like you ever do anything I say.

BONUS AWKWARD:

"Ever wondered what the kid with the clarinet is really thinking?"
